Short Update #1

LIVING HOPE ODESSA

Back in January, when we were able to distribute over 400 gifts to needy children and senior citizens, we had no idea that the situation in our country would be coming so bad again. But after watching the Russian President’s speech yesterday, it became even clearer to us that at least the next few months will again be very unpredictable and challenging. As long as we are able, we will continue normal activities in our three day centres as usual. We firmly believe that it is especially important in these uncertain times to provide a safe and stable environment for our children.

Of course, the uncertainty is wearing on everyone’s nerves and many who can afford it are planning to leave the country, or at least the south-east of Ukraine, for a while. Of course, the families we work with cannot afford this and so we stay where we are at home and hope and pray. Please feel free to support us in this. Please forgive us if we don’t answer all the emails or phone calls right away, at the moment we get many requests every day besides the daily things that need to be done. Let us hope and pray together for peace and reconciliation.

Sincerely yours,

Slavik and Nicole with the staff and children from Living Hope Odessa
